Juliet Takes Poison

Fiona and I went to see Bethany do her Juliet tonight in Trinity Bellwoods Park. I’m not really much of a fan of outdoor Shakespeare but she was lovely and true.

Working on “The 83rd” which is part of the Summerworks Festival Performance Gallery starting next week. Kirsten and I will be rehearsing over the next week and I’m meeting tomorrow with Kim who will be designing. It’s a short piece, 5-7 minutes, and it’s coming together. But I just found out that the hotel room in which the piece is set - and for which I wrote the piece - is intended to be empty. Not so good for me. Or the piece. Or Kirsten who is required to make a bed and deal with the kind of furniture one might expect in a hotel room. Eek. First I lost an actor and then I lost the room. What is the Universe trying to tell me?

Stratford - actually Keira Loughran - is working hard at putting together the “His Greatness” reading - which will now be a morning reading and no (Arlene and Kevin) it’s not pubic (but thanks for asking) - strictly an in-house deal. The casting is looking very interesting. More on that later.

Do you know what dates “The 83rd” will be happening? I’m going to be in Toronto - on my very first visit to Canada - in time to catch the last few days of the Performance Gallery and I’m hoping that means I’ll be able to see your play.

    With crossed fingers,

    Elizabeth
